Missy, the Cat!

Due to the warm climate we have here in the Central Valley of California I am spending much time in opening and closing windows during the day. The other day I went in to close the window in Rachel's room.
This is what I saw:

There was a lump on Rachel's bed! I had no clue as to what it was, so I pulled up the covers to get a peek, and this is what I found!

Having disrupted her sleep I soon saw this:

Missy has been lonely since Baggy died. She needs our attention in a way I never thought possible! She is even 'friendly' to the other cats in the neighborhood! The other day we had friends over (Chris, CC, Catherine & Grace) and she allowed the girls to pet her! Amazing! When she wants to play she goes and sits by her toys and just looks at me like, "What are you waiting for? Here I am! Let's do this!" And lately when we have played with her it isn't the typical lay down on your back and swat, it's the jump from one side of the room to the other, and twist and turn and run back again! So silly! Sometimes I think Missy thinks she is our child, with all the attention she demands of us! She has even taken to going out in the yard if we are there. Funny how one cat's absence can bring such a change in another. I'm glad we still have Missy - she loves us! And we love her!
