Our Niche

We have lived in our home for a little over 5 & 1/2 years now (I know, can you believe that?). Our niche is in our entryway to our home, and for years I debated about what to do with it. (we have a great Santa picture we hang there during Christmas) Finally, I decided that we would do something about our family. When in Provo last spring (2007), we happened upon this great framed quote,
"May this home be blessed with the laughter of children, the warmth of a close family, hope for the future and fond memories of the past."

We had decided to do family photos around the sign, so when Amy and Brad were living here she and I went to Michaels and bought these frames. They have been sitting around for a long time! I was sure I wanted to put some black and white family photos in them, but was unsure as to which ones. Then, a few months back I found the gigantic 'D' at Kohl's and thought it would work perfectly there!

In April or May I purchased photoshop so that I could work on photos for my baby blanket website; however, it has proven to be useful for the photos we have taken of our family that are stored on our computer as well. In looking through photos I decided I wanted to include the newest members of our family, so I opted to use recent photos rather than old ones - which was my original thought. Now everyone is included... Yay for me!

Now, you are probably in suspense and cannot wait to see our niche! Well, I shall keep your suspense in check no longer! Here it is:

With the flowers that go in front of the niche:

Without the flowers... you can decide which one you like!

I hope you enjoyed seeing our niche! I mostly want our family to see that their mom has made some progress around here! Also, I must say, it brings me great joy to see pictures of our family members that I love so much and miss all the time!

  2. I stumbled upon your blog, completely at random, but thought I would leave a note. I like the flowers on the table in front of the pictures and saying as it creates more of a homely feel. Having said this, both look nice.
