Thanksgiving and Apple Hill

We had every intention of staying home this Thanksgiving. My mom, sister and nieces were all getting together in the Sacramento area to celebrate. It's been years since Rachel has been home for Thanksgiving, so we opted to stay home. Not that we don't love being with the family... we do! We just thought it'd be nice to have a quiet day at home.

My sister informed me that my brother, Stan, was coming for Thanksgiving. That is a minor miracle in our family. So, we changed our plans and drove to Roseville to be at my niece and nephew's lovely home. We had fun visiting with family, going for a walk, and just hanging out with everyone.

The best thing was that we took some pictures of all of us... a few I'll share with you right here and now!

Seppi thought it'd be fun to sit on Grandma's lap! She invited him, so why not!?

... trying to fit everyone into the picture! (including Daisy and Peek-a-boo!)

After dinner was over and things were cleaned up we headed on home... ready to relax in our comfy home!

The following morning we headed up to Apple Hill! We usually go there in October but with our trip to Buffalo and the yard work that needed to be finished we opted not to. So, Rachel was able to visit one of her favorite places, and enjoy one of her favorite traditions in our family! All the shops were open so we shopped around a bit, then stopped at one of the farms, Abel's Acres, and ate lunch. We also bought fritters, donuts and apple pie! We even had a cherry-apple pie that was really good! I don't particularly care for cherries and I even thought it was good!

It was just a nice day - the sun was shining up in Placerville, while it was not in Manteca! We drove home the long way on Hwy 49 and enjoyed the scenery.
Here are some pics from Apple Hill:

  1. Holy blue eyed Rachel! I'm so jealous about Apple Hill, but so grateful I was able to go last year with you guys. I have been craving Apple Hill for a while. Those were great family photos- definitely doesn't happen often enough.
