Christmas and such...

Christmas this year was unusually quiet... Craig and Angie visited us from December 20th - 23rd. We truly enjoyed their visit! We especially enjoyed our dinner on Sunday (our traditional Christmas dinner) and dinner out at Dave Wong's in Stockton - so very yummy! We are happy that Angie could spend some time with us and get to know us better. They are a happy little family!

While Craig and Angie were here we went and visited my mom in Sacramento. We had lunch at my mom's with Debi and Donna also. Craig was happy to have everyone meet Angie for the first time!

Rachel began her visit on Christmas Eve, and ended it on New Years Day. We had a great time with her. She and I spent time reading out loud the book 'New Moon'. We wish she could have been home prior to Christmas, but you have to do what your job expects. Thankfully she was home for Christmas day!

Christmas Eve was fun since we all got together at my mom and sister's and celebrated Christmas. It was so nice to be with all the family, and it's about all the Christmas my mom can handle. That's what happens, sometimes, when you are nearly 83!

When Rachel was home we did a few things together. On Saturday we went to Monterey! I was told about a French pastry bakery there so we went and tried it out. It was delicious! From there we just drove around Monterey and went on 17 Mile Drive. The weather could not have been more gorgeous! Clear and sunny!

Rach was so excited to be there that she did cartwheels!

The ocean was pretty active that day...
...but beautiful!
The waves were pretty strong too.

The tide was especially high. I saw water in areas where we normally just walk on the beach!

Along 17 Mile drive is the Pebble Beach Golf Course. We stopped and bought Pat a few birthday gifts (since I am in Idaho for his birthday this year - babies rule over our birthdays - they just do!). We took a few pics of the Pebble Beach area.

This is near the Pebble Beach Golf Club area:
They had a cute little statue of a child playing golf - I wonder if Tiger Woods posed for this one!

The following Tuesday we went to the Sacramento area. First we drove around the temple, then we had lunch in downtown Folsom - cute shops! From there we stopped by to see my mom, and then went to Old Sacramento to enjoy the Train Museum! Fun times!

That was pretty much the extent of Christmas for us. The most exciting news was that James arrived just in time to celebrate the New Year! We couldn't be happier about his arrival!

Happy New Year everyone!!!
