31 years!

Today we have been married for thirty-one years. So, I thought I'd do something really cheesy and share thirty-one reasons why I loved my husband when I married him...

1. He brought me honey and lemon when I was sick with a cold (I had never even had it before)
2. His impish grin and killer dimples.
3. His kisses and his hugs. (I could never get enough!)
4. His testimony of the gospel.
5. His love for family.
6. His desire for me to be a stay-at-home mom, no matter the sacrifice involved. (and yes, we did discuss it prior to engagement)
7. His proposal - you just had to be there!
8. His love of his mission in Peru.
9. His desire to not live on the east coast (since I am from CA!)
10. His love of learning.
11. His talkativeness! I am a listener, so we are quite balanced in that area.
12. His ability to play any and all sports - though he would say he stinks at golf, even though he loves it!
13. His blue eyes! Aren't our children's eyes beautiful???
14. His laugh.
15. His desire to do what is right.
16. His effort in not conforming. (not in a bad way!)
17. His infectious smile.
18. His dedication to his studies, and to basically anything he set his mind to.
19. The way he first held my hand.
20. His off-key singing - so adorable!
21. His cute freckles.
22. The way he honors the Priesthood.
23. Our first date, first kiss and dtr - though they didn't call them 'dtr's in those days! ;-)
24. His knowledge of the scriptures and that he knew all the apostles names.
25. His appreciation of me - who I really am - serious and silly.
26. His acceptance of me... which says a lot.
27. His instant love for my family.
28. The way he played with my nieces... and how they adored him.
29. The respect he has for others.
30. The love he has for friends.
31. The way he loved me then and the way he loves me now.

Those are just the first 31 I thought of, the list is longer, and even longer still with the 31 years we have shared. I am blessed to have this wonderful, imperfect, loving man in my life - through good times and bad - he is and always will be my best friend. I am one lucky girl!
