This first one was written in 1982, when Sam and Craig were little...
Brothers
Tumbling and romping
As you so often do,
You grow closer every waking moment
In spite of words being few.
One is three, the other one,
But OH! A pair you make!
We knew what we were doing -
You are definitely not a mistake!
Your giggles are in harmony,
Your tears they are not few -
As you rough and tumble with each other
You know some loving's due.
Keep growing, stay together,
Your friendship I adore.
For after all, you are and will be
Brothers forever more.
Smile! (1994)
Wherever you are
There's one thing you do
That will often find
It's way back to you.
It's not a difficult task
For you to fulfill
You can give it away
And keep it still.
Put a smile on your face
And share it all day.
The more you give it
The better it will stay.
For when you care enough
Your smile to share
Your reward will be
That which is rare.
A smile for a smile,
It's simple to see,
As you lift another,
Lifted you'll be.
love your poetry mom. it's fun to see it. you should post it more :)
