Happy Mother's Day Mom!!!

Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful mom. I have been so blessed to be her daughter these 54 years! She has been an amazing example to me in so many ways. Here are a few of my favorite memories of her:
  • When I was seven and we lived in North Hollywood I was 'skating' with my brother and other friends in our apartment complex. The thing is I had my cousin Carol's old skates, well, skate, that is. So, my mom saw me skating around with one foot pushing and the other skating, lopsided like. She called me in and said we were going to the store for something. When we got to Sears we went to the skate section and she bought me a pair of skates! I thought she was the best thing ever!
  • In my teens I wasn't the best daughter and gave my parents a difficult time. She had this never ending reservoir of patience with me, she knew that I would amount to far more than I thought I would.
  • One of the best words that describes my mom is 'sweet'. She has such a good and tender heart and wants to help others in any way that she can.
  • My mom loves her family like crazy. She looks past all of our faults and just accepts us for who we are - good or bad.
  • She tells crazy stories to my kids! They are always laughing about the silly things she tells them, but they do so lovingly. :)
  • My mom has been such an example to me of what a wonderful grandma is. I am striving to emulate what she has done, and do even better, if possible.
As I said before, I am so blessed to have my mom in my life. While I don't look forward to not having her around at some point in time I know that when that happens she will be so happy to be with my dad. How I love my mom.
