The City

A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to see Sam in San Francisco. We drove out on Thursday evening, spent the night at the same hotel he was at (which proves that I love my son!), then spent all day Friday with him and some of his fellow art students.

Here is the view from the hotel. The view was great, the location was great, the hotel... left a bit to be desired. (for a hotel snob like me, that is!)

When we first met up with Sam we went to Pier 39 and walked around, Pat and I shared some clam chowder in a bread bowl... delicious. The following day we took Sam and 5 other students to DreamWorks for a 3-hour tour that my niece, Donna, set up for them. (Thank you Donna!)

While they were on their tour Pat and I drove around Redwood City and the surrounding areas. We went to Los Altos and drove from there back to Redwood City, going through the town of Atherton. So nice, beautiful homes, and an amazing area.

After their tour we drove them all back to the city, dropping them off at their various destinations. Sam opted to spend the rest of the time with us so we went to the Legion of Honor Museum. This is what we saw...

View from the parking lot - magnificent, isn't it?
Another beautiful view. :)
Pat and Sam with 'The Thinker'
Me with Monet's "Water Lillies"
I have always loved Monet.
Pat and I at The Legion of Honor. Great view!

Legion of Honor - impressive building!
Sam in China Town, where we ate dinner.
Very yummy!

We loved spending some time with Sam; it was so nice to have him near us even for just a day! We hope something great comes from his visit here! (He was also able to tour Pixar, something no other BYU group has even done before!)
