Saturday we ventured to one of our great loves... Yosemite! This is a place we never grow tired of visiting. It never, ever disappoints... ever! We plan to return again possibly sometime in the fall, when most of the visitors have departed. Pat hopes to hike Half Dome at that time. I,too, hope he can! I have volunteered to stay at the lodge whilst he and others attempt this great feat. I am willingly able to drop them off and pick them up a few days later! Anyone want to join me?
Usually it takes us about 2 & 1/2 hours to get from our home to the valley floor. But, alas, that was not to be. They are doing roadwork in Yosemite - just prior to entering the valley floor! So, we waited for about 1/2 hour and then it was time to go! We were excited, as were all the many other drivers around us! And it would have worked wonderfully, except for this ridiculous family a few vehicles in front of us! They had a van full of people that decided to walk ahead and investigate. So, it took them about five minutes to get into their van. (for some unknown reason the people behind them didn't figure out to go around them) So, we got to the point where they shut down the road only to have it happen once again to us! Yikes! Yet another lengthy wait. Luckily the scenery was beautiful and the breeze was an improvement from where we had previously been.
A kind of 'closure' we didn't need! I'm sure it will be an improvement in the long run!
Pat being camera-shy... go figure!
Yosemite Falls - roaring like a Lion! Just beautiful and very cooling!
The river at Happy Isles, one of my favorite spots to visit.
All I can say is that Yosemite is a must! It is one of God's most beautiful creations!
I love Yosemite. I bet dad made fun of you for taking those Road Work Ahead pictures... admit it!
