Profound thought...

Last week our Stake RS presidency met with our Stake President, President Crockett, for our monthly stewardship meeting. We have 1/2 hour with the Stake President and Brother Herrin, the HC over RS. At this particular meeting we discussed our recent Stake RS activity, which took place on January 30th. It was a positive, uplifting meeting, and President Crockett was pleased with the outcome.

More to the point, we also discussed living the commandments and I thought he shared a profound thought with us. He said, "Isn't living the commandments as simple as not poking yourself in the eye?" He elaborated by explaining that if we (in general) would tell others "Don't poke yourself in the eye!" in conjunction with living the commandments they might understand that when you break the commandments and commit sin you are hurting yourself. Heavenly Father is simply asking us to not hurt ourselves by giving us commandments - isn't it great to be so loved? By living the commandments we are happier, and I think those around us are as well. :)
