Welcome to the newest addition to our family... little Gavin. We are so thankful he made it safely here... we wondered if he would when Amy went into labor the morning he was scheduled to arrive. Things were a bit crazy around here at 3:45 when she announced to Brad that she was in labor. And when she said 'labor' she really meant HARD labor! Her contractions were coming one after the other, to the point that she could barely speak when she arrived at the hospital. It turns out that the placenta had begun to separate from Gavin which can be very dangerous for the baby. Fortunately (and I attribute it to the Priesthood blessing she received a few hours earlier) everything went well and both baby Gavin and mommy are doing well!
Amy just before leaving for the hospital...
she can pose even in the midst of contractions!

A few hours after he was born. She was smiling happily, but oh so tired!

Sissy enjoyed holding her newest nephew!

Grandpa can't get enough...

Grandma just plain loves being a grandma!

Little Gavin - so precious. :)

So, So blessed!
Congrats grandma and grandpa! Thank goodness they were able to get to the hospital safely and with enough time. I can't believe Amy remembered to get a picture before she left. I'm still mad at myself, I forgot before we left....and I even had it written on my list of things to do but somehow missed seeing it. :) Make sure to tell Amy to watch Gavin closely for jaundice since the placenta was detaching. He's a cutie!!
