A few years ago we decided that it would be fun to paint our kitchen and great room daring colors! So we chose Sly Fox (behr paints used) for our kitchen and Pumpkin Butter for our great room. They both turned out great (thank you girls, and Pat, but truthfully mostly girls)! Over time I came to realize that these colors just don't match my personality - I am a bright person, I love light (except when I am sleeping at night). In fact the first thing I do every morning after I am finished in the bathroom is to go around the house and open up all the blinds allowing light to shine in. I am even so finicky that I like my blinds at a particular angle, either straight or slanted upward, so the blinds are happy. (yes, I am odd, I allow things, even my car after a wash, to be happy - oh well, there are worse things in life, right?) Pat, doesn't get my finickiness over this, but that's okay, he still loves me... :)
THE KITCHEN
So, without further ado... here is our before, with Sly Fox (love that name)...

TADA!!! The after... with Newport Blue (makes me miss my SoCal roots...)

I LOVE the lightness of the blue! It is so homey to me. It just makes me SMILE! :)
THE GREAT ROOM
Our original choice of color for the great room was Pumpkin Butter - again, love the name. But we didn't feel it would work with the blue so we changed that to Arabian Sand, which really works with Newport Blue... kind of a sand and sea thing, which anyone that knows me know that I love the ocean. However, it really looks more like a frothy mocha color, I really, really like it!

Our Niche -
which by the way took me Y.E.A.R.S. to figure out what to put there
and now I love it, which also makes me happy.

So, thanks to Rachel, Pat and moi we now have the colors that I really like and feel comfortable with. I hope you all like it. And if you want to come and see it in person, come on over! :)
