We shuffled off to Buffalo!

On October 8th Pat and I left home very early in the morning and drove to the Oakland airport where we caught a flight on Jet Blue that would take us to JFK airport and then on to Buffalo! We arrived in Buffalo at about 8PM, quite tired from the long day of travel!

I am, for the first time, adding slide shows in order to compensate for all of our pictures. I am actually leaving a decent amount out!
Slide show of airport (way exciting ;-)) and Palmyra (beautiful)...

Being in Palmyra was wonderful. We loved going to the Hill Cumorah, the temple, the Smith family farm, the Sacred Grove and the Grandin Building, which was really very interesting. I would recommend anyone to take the Grandin Building tour, it takes about an hour total. The whole area was so enjoyable. What a marvelous heritage we have in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!

After we finished up at Palmyra we headed south through the Finger Lakes area to Corning, NY, driving along Lake Seneca. We spent the night in Corning. The following morning we went to the Corning Glass Museum. I didn't expect it be so entertaining, but it was! I'm not a museum type person (like my husband and daughter) but I LOVED this museum (would not recommend taking little ones there, though). They had various exhibits/shows. We watched a guy glass blow a little glass duck. But, we weren't there for the other shows. However, just walking around the museum... amazing.
Slide show of: Corning Glass Museum - actually interesting! Fall foliage - much more beautiful in person, and Godfrey Gravestone...

The rest of our trip we spent hanging out with the family. We went to a fish fry on Friday night... thanks to Eddie and Cheryl for that! So yummy! Saturday we spent shopping at a Farmers market and then at an old fashioned General Store. It was very fun. Then we took everyone out to Anderson's for lunch, and then on to "Jimmy's" ice cream place (Antoinettes) where we all shared sundaes! Very yummy, and quite filling I must say!

Sunday we attended Sacrament meeting in the Buffalo ward. Pat's family was recognized by the Bishop, who mistakenly called me Sarah... oh well! (I guess Sarah is his other wife... ha!) Then we took Mom Dell home and we went to his old ward building in hopes of finding Mo (Maureen), who was a Young Women's leader when he was growing up has had a profound effect on Pat's life, we both love her. We did find her and talked with her and her daughter, Chris, all during Relief Society! Fun!

Then Pat and I drove around Buffalo, seeing his old high school, various buildings, and homes... this is a slide show of all of that...

On Monday we went with Cheryl, Eddie and Savannah to Niagara Falls! What fun we had there! It was a lot of walking so I felt like I got a really good workout that day, thankfully my knee held out! We went on the Maid of the Mist, getting a bit wet, but you will see that in the slide show, coming up now! We also went to the Hershey store where Pat had one of his favorites -- a chocolate malt! It has become quite touristy in the Niagara Falls area, as you will see!

That was pretty much what we did in New York. Here are some family pics that we took. Sorry if some are blurry - I was laughing!

We had a wonderful time in Buffalo and the surrounding area. We enjoyed being with Pat's family, and hope we can do it again sometime soon, possibly in Arizona!
