Knowledge

I have been invited to speak at another ward's New Beginnings tomorrow night. They are having Value Classes for five minutes each. My assignment: Knowledge. I think sometimes that the Lord wants us to learn about things that we aren't very knowledgeable about so He gives us these challenges. I can think of a ton of other people that could speak on "knowledge" and they actually know something! They probably even have a degree! I do not!! I am not that smart.

So, I began researching, and fretting (just a tad) because I wanted to do something that the girls could relate to --- my problem? I had too many ideas! During all that researching and fretting I had a constant prayer in my heart, and my mind...

Finally, I (thanks to the Spirit) realized that I was trying to make too much of it; that what I really needed to do was to simplify. Once that came to me it all fell into place. Without going into too much detail this is what I am presenting tomorrow night:

Top 5 Knowledge Tips:
  • Learn to love learning.
  • "What do I want to do?"
  • Good, better and best.
  • Know what you know.
  • Personalize the gospel.

Obviously I will address each one, though briefly, given the time!

I would LOVE to take credit for this and let you know just how smart I am that I thought of the list, but the truth is this: I am so very grateful for the Spirit guiding me. I really feel that all five of these need to be touched upon, probably for several of the young women. I learned a great deal along the way, also. Not only about these subjects, but also about teaching the way that I teach; simple with a lot of help from the Spirit. For me it's the only way to go.
