My Newest Creation!

In January when I was visiting Brad and Amy we finally found a diaper bag that she fell in love with on Etsy. I had suggested to Amy that if she found a bag she likes I could make a diaper bag organizer, similar to my purse organizer. After using her new very cute diaper bag for a while she decided that she could use a diaper bag organizer.

Today I finished it! Her new diaper bag is cream with a soft black floral. We thought it'd be best to try and at least stay with those colors. Here is what I came up with:

This was the product prior to sewing it together. It looks like it is just fabric, but in fact it's two pieces of fabric sewn together, with a heavy interfacing fabric, so that it will be nice and sturdy for her.

Then I created pockets by folding up the floral fabric over the black and sewing 'compartments' for her.

Now she can put diapers, wipes, or her own personal belongings in there. I demonstrated by putting diapers we have on hand (I am such a Grandma now! ... Yay for me!!!), my checkbook, cell phone and pen in.

I think it turned out really well... what do you think? Should I start another business??? ;)

  2. I love it Sandy. I am having the same problem as Amy at finding cute things I like. We live in Cedar and everyone has the same thing as the other person- from Walmart.

  3. Brittney,
You should look at Etsy.com and see if you like anything there. You can look under totes or diaper bags. They are homemade and really cute and more affordable! Happy shopping! :)

  4. I love it. I hate searching thru bags to find stuff so I usually tend not to bring one with me. I use John as my pockets. I have heard of purse organizers, but WOW how handy would that be in a diaper bag. Very well done. You probably could sell them. Maybe team up with my mom when she does craft fairs.
